A customer is a stores best (and worst) source of advertising. At Butttonwood, customer service and quality of offerings are of utmost importance. They come before all else. Certainly there might be occasions that are the exception, but never the rule with this business.

I just stumbled on the previous review, and though it's 2 years old, feel I have to respond. Having worked at Buttonwood for almost 10 years prior to leaving, I can speak first-hand regarding the intent, and policies, of the store and it's owner, Betsey Detwiler.
"Big box" and Internet businesses are more able to offer discounts much deeper than a small, independent is able to. Customer service IS the one thing that can be offered to entice local customers to continue coming in - and Buttonwood has always done that by giving back to the community in many ways, in addition to the services they strive to offer in the store itself.
Though Buttonwood may not be the place to score a "bargain" price, it is a place that offers quality items, and always values their customers loyalty. Without it, there would be no Buttonwood....
